Biographical information?

Fan Lee Warren received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1985 and a BFA from Illinois State University in 1982.

She has been teaching drawing, sculpture and painting for 17 years in a multitude of settings, from colleges to housing projects in culturally diverse communities. Also, she has taught art history and art appreciation for seven years at Las Positas/Chabot colleges and currently teaches at Laney College.

Warren has exhibited her sculptures, drawing/paintings and installations professionally for 20 years. Her work is in several public and private collections such as the public collection of the new Harold Washington Library Center in Chicago, the Spertus Museum in Chicago and the permanent collection of the Bemis Foundation in Omaha, Nebraska.

She has received various grants and awards including an Oakland Creative Artist Fellowship Grant; Western States Arts Federation/National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Regional Fellowship for Visual Artist; an NEA grant as part of the Urban Renewal Laboratory exhibit; the California Arts Council (Artist-in-Residence Grant); and two Chicago Community Arts Assistance Grants.

Her work has been reviewed in American Vision, The New Art Examiner, Art in America and Arts & Letters. Currently she is featured in Who’s Who in America 2004, 58th edition; Who’s Who in the World 2001-2003, 18th edition; Who’s Who of American Women 2000-2001, 22nd edition; and Who’s Who in the American West, 27th edition.
